you all do know that the easter holiday has absolutely nothing to do with christ right? it was originally a Pagan holiday celebrating fertility, held at the beginning of spring. they would feast on rabbits (a symbol of fertility), hide eggs for their friends and family to find (another sign of fertility was finding eggs), and they would party for three days. having all kinds of festivities as well as sex (fertility holiday, duhh). but the christian church tried to expel Pagan beliefs so they stole the holiday for their own purposes basically saying "you can celebrate, just do it our way"

exactly! haha well christianity for the win! *sarcasm* had they just stuck to what was correct it'd be much better! but its hard to respect them when ALL their holidays and most of their book is straight up BS. the bible really shouldn't be their religious text. is been rewritten so many times and for bad purposes, stuff has been cut out, and its ben translated waaaaaaaaaaaay too many times. it simply isnt correct anymore. and thats kinda sad
I'm not looking to debate, just had to speak up as a Catholic: The Bible is not the only source of faith and truth in the Catholic Church, as we also have the Magisterium and Sacred Tradition. But all the same, no matter how many times the Bible has been translated, and how many (faulty) interpretations there may be, its core message is still the same, and that is, God loves you. He even sent His only Son to die (and live again) for our sake.
